Silchar: Subham Roy has strongly condemned the alleged harassment of a woman student at Assam University, stating that such behaviour was unacceptable and must not be tolerated.

In a statement, Roy said that attempts to harass students with inappropriate proposals were highly condemnable and undermined the sacred relationship between teachers and students. He demanded appropriate punishment for those involved in the incident.

Roy also praised the women students who had taken a courageous stand against the alleged misconduct. He expressed his gratitude to them for raising their voices against injustice and standing firm in their fight for justice.

He further thanked AUSU General Secretary Kaushik Dasgupta, ICC member Tanish Das Kashyap, ABVP Secretary Moumita Chand and other office-bearers and activists for extending their support. Roy stressed the need to stand united against injustice, ensure accountability and protect the dignity of educational institutions.

He called for justice in the case and urged all concerned to uphold the values of safety, respect and integrity on campus.
