KALIABOR: A vehicle carrying dry firewood caught fire while travelling along a national highway in Kaliabor, Assam, triggering concern over the safety of the driver and the vehicle.

According to reports, the driver managed to steer the burning vehicle towards the Hatimura sandbar near the Brahmaputra river. He then used water to douse the flames.

Although a significant quantity of firewood was burnt in the incident, the vehicle itself remained undamaged. The driver’s timely action helped prevent further damage. The exact cause of the fire has not yet been ascertained.
