IMPHAL: Manipur MLA Rajkumar Imo Singh has urged Governor Ajay Kumar Bhalla to launch a comprehensive security initiative named “Operation Manipur” to recover illegal arms, dismantle unlawful armed networks and restore peace in the violence-hit state.

Singh called for a coordinated effort to recover weapons in illegal possession and take action against armed groups operating outside the law. He said a comprehensive security initiative was needed to improve the law and order situation and restore normalcy in Manipur.

The MLA also urged the government to consider abrogating the Suspension of Operations (SoO) agreement, which covers certain Kuki-Zo armed groups.

His demands come amid continuing concerns over security and the need for lasting peace in the state. The proposed initiative, if taken up, would aim to strengthen security measures and address the challenge posed by illegal arms and armed networks.
