JORHAT: Police in Assam’s Jorhat have detained a man accused of posing as a qualified doctor and securing jobs at multiple healthcare facilities using allegedly fake medical credentials. The accused has been identified as Ahmed Ali, also known as Dr Yakub Ali Ahmed. He was reportedly working as the in-charge of the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at Jorhat City Orthopaedic Hospital when the allegations came to light.

According to the allegations, the man had used purportedly false medical qualifications to obtain employment at more than one healthcare facility. The detention has raised concerns over the verification of medical qualifications and the appointment of healthcare professionals, particularly in critical care units where patients depend on trained and qualified doctors.

Further details regarding the police investigation, the authenticity of the accused’s credentials and the healthcare facilities where he had allegedly worked are awaited. The allegations against the accused are yet to be established through the legal process.
