IMPHAL | Manipur Chief Minister Yumnam Khemchand Singh on Saturday inaugurated the Northeast’s first Artificial Intelligence-enabled Career Intelligence Hub in Imphal, marking a new initiative to integrate advanced technology into education and career guidance in the state.
The Chief Minister also formally inaugurated the 32nd National Children’s Science Congress at Tamphasana Girls’ Higher Secondary School. Rajya Sabha MP A. Sharda Devi attended the joint programme, organised by the Manipur Upliftment Centre and Samagra Shiksha Manipur under the Union Ministry of Science and Technology.
Funded through the Members of Parliament Local Area Development Scheme (MPLADS), the AI-enabled hub is designed to help students identify their individual strengths, assess their abilities and explore career opportunities suited to their interests and skills.

The initiative aims to strengthen digital literacy, encourage specialised skill development and prepare young people for an increasingly technology-driven employment market. Addressing the gathering, Khemchand Singh said artificial intelligence was rapidly transforming professional sectors across the world and that students needed to adapt to the changing employment landscape.
He expressed hope that the new facility would provide students with better career insights and help them make informed decisions about their academic and professional futures. The Chief Minister also appreciated students of the host institution for maintaining restraint and avoiding agitation during the regional disruptions witnessed over the past eight months.
Urging the public and student community to avoid street protests during periods of crisis, he emphasised the importance of peaceful dialogue and diplomatic engagement in restoring lasting peace in Manipur. Later in the day, Singh attended the 27th Foundation Day celebration of Herbert School in Imphal, accompanied by MLA Dr Th Radheshyam Singh.
Recognising the institution’s contribution to education, the Chief Minister appreciated its management and teaching staff for their continued efforts to maintain academic standards and provide quality education in the state. The launch of the Career Intelligence Hub marks an effort to expand technology-based educational support in Manipur, with a focus on helping students navigate changing career requirements and emerging employment opportunities.
