Office Area Echoes with Slogans as Protest Intensifies

Sribhumi : Male and female members of the Home Guard force from across Sribhumi district gathered in front of the District Commissioner’s office and launched an indefinite hunger strike, raising various demands.
Their key demands include the amendment of the Home Guard Act of 1947, an end to the six-month contractual appointment system, and the regularization of their jobs. They asserted that if their demands are not met, they will continue their hunger strike indefinitely.
Meanwhile, they submitted a memorandum with signatures to Sribhumi Sadar Circle Officer Jagriti Kalwar and DSP Narayan Boro, formally placing their demands before the administration.
