I want to request my tribal brothers not to stop forest officials who come to the hills for planting trees, says Wilubou Newmai, Spokesperson, BJP Manipur Pradesh while discussing the challenges of the state of Manipur with KRC Times. He echoed passionately ‘Preserving forest is preserving our future generation’ so that we lead a healthy life, that we don’t lose our forest.

Due to deforestation, soil erosion and landslides are taking place constantly. Rains are scarce, and we cannot do normal cultivation and so many farmers are facing difficulties. The environmental issues are the greatest concerns states Wilubou.

He further asserts that why our Ministers and MLAs are sleeping over this, and why only Chief Minister is fighting for the environmental issues; the public leaders are equally responsible to bring in a social change. As responsible public leaders, they have sworn to protect their country and land, why do they remain silent?

He also said that ‘it is the duty of every MLAs to convince the people on the ground to stop deforestation. CM is not alone responsible but concerned MLAs including those in the Hills area have to show responsibility and they can also convince the people. CM N. Biren Singh is not talking for himself or his family but is talking for the whole of Manipur, Why all tribal Ministers are sleeping, it seems they support those misguided people who are not allowing forest officials to come and work in the forest, commented strongly the Spokesperson of BJP Manipur Pradesh.

This is the right time to protect our environment. If you plant a tree, you plant a life. If you cut a tree, you kill a life. Newmai further informed that timber smuggling is going on and if we go to the village area we can see lots of shaktiman vehicles carrying huge timbers which are illegal in nature and are banned by the forest department. Why such activities are taking place he asks questions and said that the forest department should strictly implement the law.

I also appeal to the public not to create any problems for officials and instead cooperate with the department when they come for plantation. Let’s stop harming nature. Plant more trees. Planting more trees can help protect the water and soil that is crucial to local communities, he says.

Nature has no color, caste, creed, or religion. As human beings, we should plant more trees to give a clean and better environment for our future generations.

It is sad and unfortunate that some people and villagers are giving hindrances to the people coming with good intentions to plant trees and revive & restore our treeless forests. Newmai further said that he urges all people concerned to cooperate with the forest department and people coming to plant trees in our reserved forest areas. They are not coming with the intention of grabbing land.

So, the Chief Minister of Manipur N. Biren Singh is giving an important message to all the communities living in Manipur to protect our environment by saving and planting more trees in some areas of Manipur where trees are needed to be planted, he echoes.

We don’t have another planet to live on. It’s high time to take transforming actions to save our future. Let’s join hands with our Chief Minister N. Biren Singh to bring a positive change to move our State to a healthier, greener, and peaceful place to live, Wilubou appeals.
