Tamil Nadu: In a remarkable achievement for Assam, 11-year-old swimmer Aditri Roy Chowdhury has successfully completed a solo swim across the Palk Strait, covering nearly 29 kilometres from Talaimannar to Dhanushkodi without a break.
Aditri completed the challenging open-water expedition in around 12 hours and 52 minutes, showcasing exceptional endurance, focus, and determination at a very young age.
The swim across the Palk Strait is considered one of the toughest open-water challenges due to changing sea conditions, strong currents, and unpredictable weather. Despite the demanding conditions, the young swimmer completed the journey successfully, earning praise from sports enthusiasts and well-wishers across the country.
Her achievement has sparked celebrations in Assam, with many describing the feat as a proud moment for the state and an inspiration for aspiring athletes.
