Senapati: Three houses were reportedly burnt after unidentified armed men allegedly opened fire at Kailenjang village in Manipur’s Senapati district on Wednesday afternoon.
According to reports, the incident took place around 2 pm when unidentified armed men allegedly fired several rounds towards the village. Following the firing, three houses were reportedly set ablaze. Kailenjang village is located around 10 km west of the Senapati district headquarters, near the Senapati-Kangpokpi district boundary.
No casualties or injuries have been reported so far in connection with the incident. Additional security forces have been deployed in the area, while a search operation is underway to trace those involved in the incident.
The latest incident comes days after violence was reported in the same village. On September 27, three people were killed and another was injured after suspected Kuki armed men allegedly opened fire at Kailenjang village.
