Silchar: Cachar Police intercepted a vehicle in Silchar and seized around 70,000 Yaba tablets in a major drug bust, Assam Chief Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma said on Thursday.

Sharing the development, Sarma said, “Thought they could slip through the bypass? Wrong move.”

Police apprehended one person in connection with the seizure. Further investigation is underway to trace the source and intended destination of the drugs.

“The trail is being traced,” the Chief Minister said.
