Imphal : Assam Rifles while conducting their routine checking of the vehicles at  National highway number 102 today seized a huge quantity of drugs worth approximately 11.35 crore on Wednesday afternoon.

The operation was conducted by Assam Rifles personnel’s who seized a substantial amount of Heroine as well as “World is Yours” narcotic pills from a van driver who came from Moreh. It could be mentioned that these substances were being transported from Moreh to Imphal.

The combined value of the drugs worth 11.35 crore which was hidden under the rear seat of a Silver colour Omni Van bearing registration number MN-01AG 2412.

According to AR personnel’s the van was coming from Moreh. Normal checking was done thoroughly and later at 1:15p.m they found white coloured powder suspected to be Heroine nicely packed inside  packets weighing approximately 400 gram, along with 3,13,000 WIY tablets and orange colour powder which was also suspected to be brown sugar in 15 more packets weighing nearly 180 gram, from the rear seat of this van.

During interrogation the Van driver turn out to be a resident of  Moreh Muslim Nagar ward -5 which is now handed over to Tengoupal Police for further interrogation.
