NEW DELHI | A delegation of Assam BJP MPs on Friday met Union Home Minister Amit Shah at Parliament House and apprised him of the flood situation in the state, seeking additional support for communities affected by the recent deluge.

During the meeting, the MPs urged the Centre to allow flood-hit farmers to receive wages for 100 days in advance under the VB-G RAM G Act, 2025, saying the measure would provide immediate financial relief to families struggling in the aftermath of the floods.

According to BJP MP Dilip Saikia, the Union Home Minister assured the delegation that the Centre would extend all possible assistance to Assam to help manage the flood crisis and support affected people.

The delegation included Union Minister of State for External Affairs Pabitra Margherita, BJP MPs Dilip Saikia, Kamakhya Prasad Tasa and other parliamentarians from Assam.

The meeting comes as Assam continues relief and rehabilitation efforts in several flood-affected districts, with the state government seeking enhanced central support for recovery and livelihood restoration.
