Kokrajhar: The Bharatiya Janata Party has suffered another political setback in the Bodoland Territorial Council following a fresh wave of resignations by key leaders.
State executive member Rajiv Brahma resigned from the party on Sunday, March 22, indicating growing dissent within the party’s regional unit. Brahma, who held a significant organisational role in the BJP’s BTC structure, submitted his resignation letter to the state party president.
In a move that adds to the unfolding political developments, Brahma announced that he will contest the upcoming council elections as an independent candidate from the Baokhungri constituency.
The resignation is seen as part of a broader churn within the BTC political landscape, where shifting loyalties and internal disagreements have begun to surface ahead of the elections.
