Imphal: Manipur Chief Minister Y. Khemchand on Saturday set out for Jiribam by road, accompanied by several MLAs, in a renewed effort to strengthen peace and rebuild trust in the region.

The visit follows his earlier outreach to the district and is aimed at restoring confidence among local communities affected by recent tensions. The delegation includes BJP Manipur President A. Sharda Devi along with MLAs T. Robindro, Sheikh Noorul Hassan, Heikham Dingko, Dr. S. Ranjan, S. Premchandra, Sapam Kunjeshore, Khongkham Robindro, and L. Rameshor.

During the visit, the team is expected to assess the ground situation, particularly focusing on internally displaced persons (IDPs) and other affected communities.

The Chief Minister is also likely to initiate dialogue with leaders from both Meitei and Kuki communities, with an emphasis on restoring stability and promoting peaceful coexistence across the state.
