Imphal: Representatives of the Coordinating Committee on Manipur Integrity (COCOMI) and Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) met Manipur Governor Ajay Kumar Bhalla at Lok Bhavan here on Monday to seek urgent attention to resettlement, rehabilitation and security concerns arising from the prolonged unrest in the state.

During the meeting, the delegation highlighted the difficulties faced by thousands of displaced families, particularly uncertainties over resettlement, rehabilitation and personal safety. They also raised broader issues linked to the prevailing situation in areas along the Valley-Hill district interface, stressing the need for coordinated administrative action and strengthened security measures.

Governor Bhalla listened to the concerns raised by the delegation and said the state administration has already initiated steps towards the resettlement and rehabilitation of displaced families. He reiterated the government’s commitment to ensuring a safe, phased and dignified return of IDPs to their respective areas, keeping ground realities in view.
