CM congratulated the Shillong Sports Association for its continued efforts in strengthening the football culture in Meghalaya

Shillong: Conrad K. Sangma on May 7 officially launched the Football Season 2026 of the Shillong Sports Association at the SSA Ground in Polo, Shillong.
Addressing players, officials, and football enthusiasts during the inaugural programme, the Chief Minister congratulated the Shillong Sports Association for its continued efforts in strengthening the football culture in Meghalaya.

He said the association has played an important role in providing a competitive platform for local football clubs and in nurturing young sporting talent across the state.
Sangma also highlighted the growing popularity of football in Meghalaya and reiterated the state government’s commitment to promoting sports infrastructure and opportunities for youth.
The launch programme witnessed the participation of football players, sports officials, club representatives, and supporters, marking the beginning of another competitive football season in the state.
