Several Student bodies of Dima Hasao like Dimasa Students’ Union (DSU), All Dimasa Students’ Union (ADSU), Hrangkhol Students Association (HKSA), Hmar Students Association (HSA) and All Biate Students Association (ABSA) expressing serious concern over the rapid rise of Covid positive cases demanded the temporary suspension of Assam Rifle recruitment process at Haflong.

The student leaders in a press meet held today at the office of DSU stated that according to the media sources it was learnt that recently three suspected COVID-19 patients flee from the Haflong Civil Hospital COVID-19 testing ward without any notice to the Hospital Authority. And later it was learnt that the three suspected patients were from the neighbouring state that recently came to Haflong to join the recruitment process organized by the 11th Assam Rifles. That matter was really a serious concern as a single minute mistake from the authority could lead to a threat to thousands of lives.

So, the students’ organizations from various communities in the interest of the General Public of Dimasa Hasao demand temporary suspension of the recruitment process to avoid any kind of loss to the general public of Dima Hasao.

They also requested all the General Public of Dima Hasao to follow all the COVID-19 protocols issued by the District Administration.
