According to industry sources, the hike has been driven primarily by rising international energy prices amid ongoing geopolitical tensions in West Asia. The conflicts have disrupted global fuel markets and pushed up the cost of petroleum products worldwide.
Supply chain challenges have further intensified the pressure on prices. Trade and transport disruptions along key maritime routes, including the strategically important Strait of Hormuz, have affected the movement of energy supplies, leading to tighter global availability and higher import costs.
Officials said domestic LPG prices are periodically revised in line with changes in international market conditions and fluctuations in input costs.
The increase is expected to add to household expenses for millions of consumers across the country who rely on LPG for cooking fuel.
