Silchar: After a prolonged wait, Silchar’s prestigious Cachar College has finally received a permanent principal. Dr. Apratim Nag has been appointed as the new principal of the college. The appointment was officially confirmed through an order issued by the Higher Education Department of the Government of Assam on Thursday.

It is worth noting that the principal’s post at Cachar College had been lying vacant for several months following the resignation of Dr. Siddhartha Shankar Nath. During the interim period, Prof. Ratanlal Das from the Commerce Department served as the acting principal.

Dr. Apratim Nag, who had been serving as the acting principal of Gurucharan College, Silchar, will now take charge as the permanent principal of Cachar College. His appointment is expected to bring much-needed administrative stability and academic leadership to one of the region’s oldest and most respected educational institutions.
