Some reportedly detonated in mid-air or among trees, while others struck the camp directly

Guwahati:Drone strikes reportedly targeted the Mt Horeb camp, the headquarters of an NSCN-IM splinter faction, in Myanmar’s Naga Self-Administered Zone in the early hours of Sunday, leaving parts of the facility damaged and some people injured.
The camp is located in Leshi Township, where the faction led by U Hanshi operates. An official of the NSCN-K/YA said the facility came under repeated attacks between 2 am and 4 am, according to a report by CNI Myanmar.
The official claimed that the headquarters had been targeted at least 20 times by drones during the assault. Reports further stated that around 60 bombs exploded during the attack. Some reportedly detonated in mid-air or among trees, while others struck the camp directly.
Parts of the facility sustained damage. However, accounts of casualties remain unclear, with reports carrying conflicting indications about whether anyone was injured or killed. The identity of those responsible for the strikes has not been established, and the circumstances surrounding the attack remain uncertain.
Nagalim government alleges proxy war
The Provisional Government of the Government of the People’s Republic of Nagalim condemned the reported strikes, alleging that the attack could be linked to a proxy war being waged by India. The allegation has not been independently verified. No independently confirmed evidence establishing India’s involvement in the incident was available in the report.
The attack comes amid continuing instability in Myanmar’s border regions, where armed organisations operate across areas adjoining India’s northeastern states. Further details about the extent of the damage, possible casualties and the identity of those behind the drone strikes are awaited.
