Silchar: The Integrated B.Sc B.Ed students of the Department of Education at Assam University, Silchar, put up their annual Science Exhibition on Monday, turning the department courtyard into a lively hub of models, demonstrations, and curious visitors. The event, held on 1 December, highlighted how future teachers are learning to pair scientific understanding with practical classroom-ready explanations.

Here’s what stood out.
Physics students built a dual alert system that can detect both earthquakes and fire, along with a solar-powered laser security setup.
The Chemistry group focused on everyday problem solving with a simple water purification arrangement and a recycling model under the theme Waste to Wealth.
The Botany section showed how plants move water internally and presented a working rainwater drip irrigation system. In Zoology, students rebuilt the human respiratory system in detail and displayed a clear structural model of a neuron.
Faculty members spent the morning moving from one stall to the next, appreciating how the students balanced content knowledge with clear demonstration techniques. The exhibition drew steady footfall from across the university and offered a glimpse of how the next generation of teachers is preparing to make science more accessible in the classroom.
