Enabling Cyber Defence in Northeast India kick starts in Agartala

A Think Tank Session on Cyber Security Skill set- To create Cyber-Defence for the Nation’ held at Agartala Press Club

A gathering comprising academicians, government officials, technocrats, and students from technical colleges and Universities echoed that looking into the current cyber security dynamics and postures, the next level of threat or war is moving towards cyber-attacks for which we need to equip ourselves and stay alert.  

In the deliberation held at a think tank session on Cyber Security Skill Set- To create Cyber-Defence for the Nation held at Agartala Press Club here on Thursday.

The event is part of our Vision 2024: Enabling Cyber Defence in North East India initiative undertaken by KRC Foundation which will be undertaken across NE India states. This is being planned partnering with NATIVEDEFENCE Tech LLP a Make in India company working in the Cyber Security space.

In a video message, Prof. S. K. Patra, Director of the National Institute of Technology, Agartala echoed that this initiative is in synchronization with the Vikshit Bharat and is in the right direction.

Dr. Sumanta Chakraborty, Registrar, of MBB University complimented the organisers for such an event in the state of Tripura and suggested that the awareness campaign should be taken to various schools and colleges.

Dr. H. Prathihari, Director of National Forensic Sciences University gave a detailed scenario of Tripura and how various threats are being mitigated. He welcomed the technical teams to interact with their students as cyber security is the next level of threats being faced by society

Among the other speakers were Dr. Suman Deb, Head of Computer Science Engineering of NIT Agartala, Dr. Swanirbhar Mazumder, Head of IT Department of Tripura University, and Prof. Priyonath Das of NIT Agartala in the inaugural session.

Bishwajit Sutradhar, Director of Sales, Cyber Security and Alliances of NATIVEDEFENCE Tech LLP gave the keynote address where he highlighted Security as a Service and education model is customised based on the needs of Tripura state-level cyber security dynamics. ‘Since it is made in India company our technical team including faculties who are oriented towards Indian regional markets, Sutradhar informed.

Srijan Nandi, Technical Director of NATIVEDEFENCE Tech LLP gave an in-depth knowledge sharing of global trends of various ransomware attacks, malicious code identification, proactive identification of cyber threats analytics, and remediation through AI-enabled SOC solutions.

A technical session was held where ASP Cyber Security, Nirdesh Deb, informed that a specialised police station on cyber security is being planned in Tripura where the cases will be responded to in a much more efficient manner.  

Biswadeep Gupta, Managing Trustee of KRC Foundation informed that the deliberations taking place will be documented and a white paper will be published once the initiative is taken up in all the eight states of NE India.

The technical session was also attended by Dr. Nirmalya Kar, of NIT Agartala, Dr. Jayanta Pal and Dr. Bishanka Brata Bhowmik of Tripura University, Prof. Jhuma Debbarma, of Tripura Institute of Technology, Prof. Sudip Bhattacharjee of ICFAI University, Shipan Das of Fleetcops Telematic Solution.
