Guwahati: Assam Pradesh Congress Committee president Gaurav Gogoi has alleged that the BJP cannot win elections in Assam without the support of goons and people associated with the coal trade.

Gogoi made the remarks in Morigaon while speaking about the alleged attack on vehicles of Congress candidates in the Samaguri Assembly constituency. He alleged that even with the Chief Minister, ministers, MLAs and the government machinery at its disposal, the BJP cannot win elections without the support of such elements.

Gogoi’s remarks came amid allegations by the Congress over the reported attack on vehicles linked to its candidates in Samaguri.
