Lakhipur: In celebration of Janajatiya Gaurav Diwas 2025, the District Administration, Cachar, organized a comprehensive health camp at Lakhinagar Gaon Panchayat under Lakhipur Development Block on Thursday. The initiative reaffirmed the administration’s commitment to extending quality healthcare to every corner of the district, especially among tribal and rural communities.

Supervised by the Joint Director of Health Services, Cachar, the day-long camp offered free medical consultations, medicine distribution, immunization, maternal and child healthcare, and screening for non-communicable and lifestyle diseases. Participants also received guidance on hygiene, nutrition, and sanitation, along with support for registration under various government health schemes.
The camp witnessed strong community participation and the presence of several dignitaries, including Norsing Bey, ACS, District Development Commissioner, Cachar, who commended the efforts of the district’s health teams.

Among others present were Rupesh Barman, President, Barman Development Council; Sailesh Singh, Assistant Engineer, Lakhipur; Dr. K.A. Debojyoti Barman; and Haripow Rongmei, Social Worker and President, Dimasa Students’ Association, along with other prominent citizens.
In conjunction with the health camp, three Jan Sunwai programmes were held at Adi Sewa Kendra in Rajabazar, Kalain, and Lakhipur blocks. These public hearings brought together BDOs, SDO (T&D), GP Presidents, and local officials who engaged directly with residents to address grievances and promote participatory governance.
The day concluded with vibrant cultural performances showcasing the traditions and unity of tribal communities.
Reaffirming its dedication to the ideals of Bhagwan Birsa Munda, the District Administration, Cachar, emphasized its ongoing mission to strengthen health services, empowerment, and inclusive development—ensuring that welfare initiatives reach those who need them most.
