Aizawl: All schools across nine districts of Mizoram remained shut on Tuesday as continuous heavy rainfall lashed the state, officials said.
The precautionary step was taken to ensure the safety of students amid worsening weather conditions. School Education Director Angela Zothanpuii confirmed that district administrations, including Aizawl, Kolasib, Lunglei and Mamit, ordered the closure of schools in view of the persistent rain.
Authorities are closely monitoring the situation as downpours continue to affect normal life in several parts of the state. Further decisions will depend on weather conditions in the coming days.
