India defeated Pakistan by 19 runs in the men’s cricket final at the 2026 Asian Games (Aichi-Nagoya) on October 3, 2026, at Korogi Sports Park in Nisshin, Japan, to win gold.

India batted first after winning the toss and posted 211/6 in 20 overs. Key contributions included:

  • Abhishek Sharma: 61 off 28 balls (3 fours, 7 sixes)
  • Tilak Varma: unbeaten 51 off 22 balls (3 fours, 4 sixes)
  • Shivam Dube: 27 off 15 balls

Pakistan chased but finished on 192/6.

Hasan Nawaz top-scored with a strong 96 (off around 50–51 balls, with multiple sixes), but India restricted the rest of the batting. Shivam Dube took the final wicket (Nawaz caught behind) on the last ball.

This was India’s successful defence of the Hangzhou 2023 title (their seventh consecutive T20I win over Pakistan in some reports) and completed a cricket double after the Indian women’s team also won gold earlier in the Games.

Note on other India-Pakistan matches: India also beat Pakistan 4-3 in a dramatic men’s hockey semi-final (last-minute winner by Abhishek) and advanced to the hockey final against Malaysia (scheduled later on October 3). The cricket final was the direct India vs Pakistan gold-medal match.

Match details (cricket): Captains Shreyas Iyer (India) and Sahibzada Farhan (Pakistan); India elected to bat.
