Texas: In a tragic act of courage, 22-year-old Indian student Anurup Reddy Koduru lost his life while rescuing three friends from drowning in the Toledo Bend Reservoir on the Texas-Louisiana border, just weeks after graduating from the University of North Texas.

According to reports, Reddy, an accomplished swimmer, noticed three of his friends struggling in the water and immediately jumped in to help. He successfully managed to rescue all three individuals and bring them to safety.

However, during the rescue effort, Reddy’s feet reportedly became entangled in a fishing line. As he struggled to free himself, strong currents pulled him underwater.

Emergency responders launched a search operation and later recovered his body from a depth of approximately 20 feet in the reservoir.

The incident has sparked an outpouring of grief among friends, family members, and the Indian student community in the United States. Many have hailed Reddy as a hero whose selfless actions saved three lives at the cost of his own.

Authorities are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the tragedy.
