Kaushik Rai Reviews Progress of Key Road Projects in Cachar

Silchar: Assam Minister Kaushik Rai on Monday chaired a review meeting at the office of the Cachar District Commissioner to assess the progress of several major road and bridge infrastructure projects across the district.

The meeting was attended by Silchar MLA Dr. Rajdeep Roy, Udharbond MLA Rajdeep Goala, Cachar District Commissioner Rahul Kumar Gupta, officials of the National Highways and Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited (NHIDCL), the Public Works Department (PWD), the Revenue Department, and other concerned officials.

Among the projects reviewed were the proposed Silchar Elevated Corridor from Rangirkhari to Trunk Road, the road from Birbal Bazar to Silchar Medical College, the Madhuraghat Bridge connecting Malugram and Dudhpatil, the Capital Point to Rangirkhari road, the Silchar-Malua road, the Badarpur-Malidahar road, the Silchar-Jiribam road, the Pailapool-Hangrum road, the Barkhola-Kalain road, and the Shilghat Bridge.

During the meeting, the minister reviewed the status of each project and discussed issues related to land, construction, and inter-departmental coordination. He stressed the need for timely execution and directed the concerned departments to work in close coordination to remove bottlenecks and speed up implementation.

The meeting focused on ensuring the smooth and early completion of these infrastructure projects, which are expected to improve road connectivity, ease traffic movement, and support the overall development of Cachar district.
