Urges Faster Civic Infrastructure Upgrades in Barak Valley

Silchar: Assam Minister Kaushik Rai on Friday chaired a review meeting with representatives of various Urban Local Bodies (ULBs) from the Barak Valley at the Silchar Convention Centre to assess the progress of key urban development initiatives across the region.
The meeting, organised by the Department of Housing and Urban Affairs (DoHUA), focused on the status of ongoing projects and the challenges facing urban local bodies in the three districts of the Barak Valley.
Key issues discussed included drinking water supply, solid waste management, drainage systems, sanitation, infrastructure development, improvement of civic amenities, and the implementation of various development projects.
Addressing the meeting, Rai called upon all Urban Local Bodies to work in close coordination to develop clean, modern, and well-planned urban infrastructure across the Barak Valley. He stressed that development projects should be implemented efficiently and within the stipulated timeframe, with the convenience and welfare of citizens remaining the top priority.
