MANIPUR: The Kuki Youth Organization (KYO) has rejected a recent statement issued by the Manipur Naga Youth Organisation (MNYO) concerning the killings of two Kuki youths, Paoginlal Hangshing and Tinginlun Chongloi.

In a press release, KYO accused MNYO of attempting to divert attention from the demand for justice and called for an impartial investigation into the killings. It also called for a probe into allegations of NSCN-IM involvement in the incident.

KYO expressed its support for the Committee on Tribal Unity (COTU) and Saikul MLA Kimneo Haokip Hangshing. It backed their demand for an independent investigation by the National Investigation Agency (NIA) to establish the circumstances surrounding the killings and bring those responsible to justice.

The organisation also stressed the need for accountability and stronger security measures to protect civilians.

The allegations of NSCN-IM involvement remain subject to investigation.
