Lions Club of Silchar Valley View Celebrates Janmashtami with Fancy Dress Competition

Silchar: Lions Club of Silchar Valley View celebrated Janmashtami on Friday by organising a colourful fancy dress competition for children at Sri Sri Kalibari and Sanibari Mandir Committee in Malugram, Silchar.

The competition was based on the theme of Radha-Krishna and saw the enthusiastic participation of 22 children. The young participants dressed as Radha and Krishna and presented their performances before the gathering.

Renowned dancer Shilpi Paul Choudhury judged the competition and was felicitated by Lions Club of Silchar Valley View. Bidisha Yadav won the first prize, while Saunak Dutta Purkaystha secured the second position and Ankita Yadav won the third prize. The Audience Choice Award went to Riyanshi Biswas.

The prizes were distributed by Club President Sanjeev Roy, along with Shilpi Bhattacharjee, Sangita Singh, Pradip Singh, Babu Singh, Mira Prajapati and Nanda Kanu Yadav. Among others, Jayanti Sikdar, Rakesh Tewari, Bijay Singh, Anita Yadav, Indira Biswas, Maya Dixit, Shanti Thakur, Bablu Yadav and Arti Tewari were present at the programme.

Project Chairperson Bandita Trivedi Roy anchored the programme and expressed gratitude to the Mandir Committee for its support in making the celebration successful.
