A disturbing incident unfolded in front of the Lalganesh Hanuman temple in the city, where a poster featuring Lord Ram was defaced with black paint. The desecration of this revered religious symbol has triggered widespread outrage among local residents.

The targeted poster, displayed under the banner of the Establishment of The Ram Mandir, was discovered with black paint splattered over Lord Ram’s face, causing shock and dismay among devotees and passersby alike.

In response to the incident, people came out in protest, expressing their condemnation and demand for justice. Among them, a protestor voiced their sentiments, highlighting the distress caused by the disrespectful act towards Lord Ram and the Hindu community.

The protestor stated, “Yesterday, the laborers were working here, and that’s when they were coloring. The incident happened either last night or early this morning. It’s really unfortunate that they painted Lord Ram’s face on the poster. We just want justice. The contractor will come, and he’ll bring the laborers with him. Whoever did this will be punished. They’ve disrespected our Ram. If we, the Hindus living in Guwahati, are subjected to such actions by Muslim people, where else can we go? We have nowhere else to turn. We want those responsible to be brought before us. If they’ve disrespected our Ram, it’s like disrespecting all Hindus. We can’t tolerate this. Now, we want those responsible to be brought here, and the law will take care of the rest. But the contractor has to come because we’re 100% sure it was the laborers who were coloring yesterday and they’re the ones who did it.”

As the investigation into the incident unfolds, authorities from the Fatashil and Odalguri police stations were present at the scene to assess the situation and ensure public safety. However, the identity of the perpetrators remains unknown, adding to the mystery surrounding the case.
