Hailakandi: A major drug haul was made late last night when a team from Ramnathpur Police Station apprehended a man travelling in a Jimny car along National Highway-06. Acting on specific inputs, the police intercepted the vehicle and carried out a search.

During the operation, officers recovered 6.21 kg of Yaba tablets, amounting to around 45,000 pills, with an estimated market value of Rs.1.8 crore. The contraband was reportedly concealed inside the vehicle in a planned manner to avoid detection.

The accused has been taken into custody, and further investigation is underway to trace the source and possible network linked to the consignment.
