Imphal : Opposition Congress leader and representatives of the Joint Action Committee against the killing of two students urged the Manipur governor Anusuiya Uikey to retrieve the bodies of the students within 24 hours
Km. Ak. Mirabai Devi, Ex-Minister and also the leader of the opposition Congress Manipur state unit along with eight (8) members of JAC and relatives called on the Governor of Manipur Anusuiya Uikey at Raj Bhavan, Imphal on Friday.

Manipur governor was urged to retrieve bodies of killed students within 24 hours.

The team handed a memorandum and briefed on the two missing students – Hijam Linthoingambi (17) and Phijam Hemanjit (20) who went missing on July, 6 and were presumed killed.

The team ardently seeks the intervention of the Governor to retrieve the dead bodies within 24 hours and to nab the culprits involved in the killing of the two minors at the earliest.

They also informed the use of excessive force by the security personnel towards the students during the agitation against the killing of two youths.

Governor while informing on the CBI inquiry being initiated already, assured that she has instructed the Security Advisor, Kuldeep Singh to expedite the investigation in this regard.
