Imphal: Phungyar MLA Leishiyo Keishing has urged the Manipur government to deploy three companies of security forces in Kamjong district following fresh violence on October 9 and 10, which reportedly claimed four lives and left 23 houses burnt.

In a letter to Manipur Home Minister Govindas Konthoujam, Keishing sought urgent reinforcement of security personnel in the district, particularly in border areas, to prevent further violence and restore peace.

The MLA stressed the need for immediate security measures to control the situation and protect residents from further attacks.

The demand comes amid renewed tension in Kamjong district, where the reported deaths and burning of houses have raised concerns over the safety of local residents.

Keishing’s appeal seeks stronger security arrangements to prevent further escalation and bring stability to the affected areas.
