Shillong/New Delhi: The fourth Meghalaya Pineapple Festival concluded at Dilli Haat in New Delhi on July 12 with the sale of a record 30 metric tonnes (MT) of fresh pineapples, reflecting the growing popularity of the state’s produce in national markets.

Held over three days, the festival nearly doubled the 15.4 MT of pineapples sold during the 2025 edition and marked a significant increase from the 7.7 MT recorded at the inaugural festival in 2023.

Apart from record sales, the event also led to new retail partnerships and business agreements aimed at expanding market access for Meghalaya’s agricultural products.

The festival served as a platform to promote Meghalaya’s premium pineapples while connecting farmers, producer groups and entrepreneurs with buyers and retailers from across the country. The new partnerships are expected to strengthen marketing opportunities and improve returns for pineapple growers in the state.

The steady rise in sales over the past four editions highlights the increasing demand for Meghalaya’s pineapples and the success of initiatives to showcase the state’s agricultural produce in national markets.
