Lakhipur: A Model Anganwadi Centre was inaugurated at Tarapur Tea Garden area under Narainpur–Tarapur GP in the Lakhipur constituency on Thursday.

The new building was constructed at a cost of Rs.25 lakh. It was formally inaugurated by Kaushik Rai, Minister of the Barak Valley Development Department, Government of Assam.
Speaking on the occasion, the minister said the centre will play an important role in the growth and care of young children in the tea garden area. He said such facilities are needed to build a healthy and safe environment for children and mothers.
BJP leader Bijendra Prasad Singh was also present at the programme along with local residents and party workers.
