Silchar: The streets of New Silchar burst into celebration on Friday evening as news of the NDA’s return to power in the Bihar Assembly election spread. Local BJP workers and supporters marked the moment with fireworks, drums and loud victory chants that filled the neighbourhood.

Silchar MLA Dipayan Chakraborty joined the celebrations and offered sweets to party members. He said the mandate in Bihar reflects the public’s trust in Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership.
According to him, development has reached even the most remote corners of the country because of Modi’s long-term vision. The sweeping win in nearly ninety seats, he said, shows how strongly people have endorsed that agenda.
Chakraborty also stressed that the outcome in Bihar is not just a regional achievement but a moment of pride for the entire nation. He thanked Assam Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma for taking part in the Bihar campaign despite a packed schedule, calling it an example of unity and commitment within the party.
Celebrations continued across New Silchar and nearby areas through the evening. Among those present were Hirok Choudhury, president of the BJP Madhyashahar Mandal; Mithun Roy of New Silchar Mandal; Basudeb Saha; Amit Poddar; Debashish Shome; Sudarshan Choudhury; and many others. Supporters described the Bihar result as a celebration of political progress and rising public confidence.
With lights, flags and decorations lining the main roads, New Silchar took on a festive look. For residents and party workers alike, the mood carried the charge of renewed motivation and triumph.
