Nagaon: Concerned over a noticeable decline in High School Leaving Certificate (HSLC) results, the District Commissioner of Nagaon on Wednesday convened a review meeting with heads of government schools across the district.
According to officials, the overall performance this year has worsened compared to previous years, raising concerns within the administration. In response, authorities have initiated corrective measures to address the issue.
Headmasters of government schools recording pass percentages below 30 per cent were summoned to provide explanations. A total of 37 headmasters attended the meeting, where the District Commissioner carried out a detailed review of school-wise performance.
During the session, emphasis was laid on accountability and the need for immediate steps to improve academic outcomes. Officials indicated that stricter monitoring and targeted interventions may be introduced in the coming months to enhance results in the district.
