“There is no teaching to compare with examples.” “We do not want to make Scout training too soft” were the golden powerful words given by Lord Robert Baden – Powell.

Lord Baden Powell’s word, ‘Always be Prepared’ is still in action where the youths from the Northeastern region gathered to attend a five day Regional Level Nature Study cum trekking at Imphal from Saturday.

These five days would include trekking, long rally, discussions, experience sharing, camping, and cultural activities.

Leaders from different states of the North Eastern region came together to participate in the five day Regional Level Nature Study Cum trekking at Manipur.

Scouts and Guides from Assam, North Frontier Railway, and Manipur took part in this event.

The host state also had scouts and guides from Tamenglong, Senapati, Maram, Imphal -East, and Imphal-West.

Talking to KRC TIMES, State Chief Commissioner  M. Sushil Kumar expressed that such events bind the youths giving them a way to channelise their energy. He said,”Youths are our future and we being the elders need to support them by giving them time.

He further stated that attending such camps will surely help them learn from mother nature.

Retd. Lt.General Dr.Konsam Himalay told the students to use time wisely and the importance of good health.

Eminent heads from the state like MLA  Kh. Raghumani, Dr. .M. Premjit former VC of Central Agricultural University, Retd IPS.Mayanglambam.Sushil Kumar attended the event.

The team started from the western gate of Kangla and would go to Kakching Chingtam Heritage Park, Meditation Tree on this two day trek by foot. The total distance is 43.4km excluding the extra trekking at Kakching Mamangching.

They would have a night stay at Thoubal and would continue their remaining trekking cum nature study walk on the next day from Thoubal to Kakching.

Localities came out to support the youths and encourage them by clapping.
