Kangpokpi: Newly appointed Manipur Director General of Police (DGP) Mukesh Singh on Sunday paid his maiden visit to Kangpokpi district, where he held a series of important meetings with police officials, Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel, and representatives of Kuki-Zo civil society organisations.
During the visit, the apex Kuki-Zo body, Kuki Inpi Manipur, submitted a memorandum to the DGP outlining the concerns, grievances, and aspirations of the community in the backdrop of the ongoing crisis in the state.
Mukesh Singh also reviewed the prevailing security situation in the district with senior police officers and central security forces. Discussions focused on strengthening coordination among security agencies, maintaining law and order, and promoting confidence-building and peace-building measures in the region.
Kangpokpi, one of the districts most affected by the ethnic unrest that has gripped Manipur for over three years, remains a key focus area for security and humanitarian interventions.
The DGP’s visit is being viewed as a significant confidence-building initiative aimed at fostering dialogue and enhancing cooperation among stakeholders as the state continues to navigate the challenges arising from the prolonged ethnic conflict.
