Guwahati: A newly married man from Sonapur in Assam died after allegedly falling from the seventh floor of Rudraksh Mall late on April 10, raising questions over the circumstances surrounding the incident.

The deceased has been identified as Siddhanta Das. According to sources, a birthday party was underway at a bar inside the mall at the time of the incident. Das had reportedly stepped out earlier to drop his wife home and later returned to the party. He was said to be under the influence of alcohol.

Soon after the fall, he was rushed to Gauhati Medical College and Hospital, where doctors declared him dead on April 11.

Police have initiated an investigation into the case. While the exact cause of the fall remains unclear, officials said all angles are being examined, including the possibility of foul play.
