Royals Fall to Capitals in High-Scoring Clash

Guwahati: Rajasthan Royals captain Riyan Parag shrugged off talk around his recent vaping controversy after a blistering 90 off 50 balls, saying he has no need to respond to critics and that team results matter more than individual performances.

Despite Parag’s aggressive knock and a late surge from Donovan Ferreira, Rajasthan Royals piled up a formidable 225/6. However, the total proved insufficient as Delhi Capitals chased it down in commanding fashion, powered by strong innings from KL Rahul and Pathum Nissanka.

Speaking after the match, Parag kept the focus on the bigger picture. He stressed that results matter more than personal milestones and made it clear he is not concerned about outside noise.

The Royals skipper, however, raised concerns over his side’s bowling in the middle overs, which allowed Delhi to stay on track during the chase. He also revealed he picked up a minor hamstring issue, putting his availability for the next game in slight doubt.

The loss adds pressure on Rajasthan Royals as they look to regroup quickly in the ongoing Indian Premier League season.
