Prakash Javadekar assumed office today in the Ministryof Heavy Industries and Public Enterprises.

He was given the additional responsibility besides the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting & Environment, Forest and Climate Change with Shiv Sena leader Arvind Sawant who resigned from the Union Cabinet after the fallout between Shiv Sena and BJP over Maharashtra Government formation.

The Minister was welcomed by Secretary, Department of Heavy Industry, Asha Ram Sihag, Secretary, Department of Public Enterprises, Sailesh, and senior officers of both Departments.
