Silchar: The prize distribution ceremony of the 2nd Sudarshan Gupta Memorial Merit Test Contest – 2025 was held on November 9 at Silchar Sangeet Vidyalaya in the presence of an august gathering.

The event was jointly organised by the Lions Club of Silchar Valley View and the Central Human Resource Development Society, with the active initiative of Youths Against Social Evils (YASE).

In Group A (Classes 7 and 8), Kheyali Dasgupta of Daffodils School secured the first prize, followed by Faizaan Akhtar Borlaskar of Tagore Public School in second place and Puja Das of M.M. Balika Vidya Niketan in third. In Group B (Classes 9 and 10), the first prize went to Farhan Akhtar Borlaskar of Tagore Public School, while Abidur Rahman Majumder of Daffodils School and Bristi Das of M.M. Balika Vidya Niketan bagged the second and third prizes respectively.

All winners received the Sudarshan Gupta Memorial Trophy and certificates, while rank holders from fourth to tenth positions were also presented with certificates of appreciation.

The prizes were handed over by Chief Guest Apratim Nag, Principal of Cachar College; advisor of the organising committee Uttam Kumar Saha; Moumita Gupta, wife of Late Sudarshan Gupta; Project Chairperson Pushpabati Roy; Club President Bandita Trivedi Roy; Secretary Anup Roy; and several other distinguished guests including Minara Laskar, Subir Dey, Sajal Kanti Das, Pinky Singh Das, Sharmistha Das Chaki, Suprabha Rajkumari, Pronoy Nag, Sahab Uddin Ahmed, Ahad Barbhuiya, Guiding Lion Sanjeev Roy, and Project Chairperson Prasanta Bhattacharjee.

In their addresses, Nag and Saha lauded the organisers for their initiative, emphasizing that such constructive efforts are vital for nurturing young minds and recognising emerging talents in the community.

The programme was smoothly conducted and anchored by Deboshree Choudhury, a member of Lions Club of Silchar Valley View.
