Rajasthan Royals saw their four-match winning run come to an end after a heavy defeat against Sunrisers Hyderabad, with Assam’s Riyan Parag terming the loss as “just a blip” despite a dramatic batting collapse.
Chasing a daunting target of 217, the Royals suffered an early setback as their top order crumbled within the first three overs. Pacers Praful Hinge and Sakib Hussain tore through the batting lineup, reducing Rajasthan to a shocking 9 for 5.
Despite the early collapse, the team managed to recover partially and post a total of 159 before being bowled out, falling well short of the target.
Speaking after the match, Parag acknowledged the mistakes while also crediting the opposition’s bowling attack. “Being five wickets down for nine, and still getting to 160, says a lot about the depth. It is just a blip. We move ahead… and something better,” he said.
The defeat serves as a setback for Rajasthan, who had been in strong form, but the team remains optimistic about bouncing back in the ongoing Indian Premier League.
