NEW DELHI: The Rouse Avenue Court is scheduled to hear the anticipatory bail plea of Congress MP from Manipur, Bimol Akoijam, on November 3 in connection with a sexual harassment case registered at Vasant Kunj North Police Station.
Eleven female students have accused Akoijam of sexual harassment allegedly dating back to his tenure as a professor at Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU).
Akoijam was granted interim protection by the Patiala House Court on October 29. However, the court subsequently directed him to approach the Rouse Avenue Court, citing jurisdictional grounds.
Following the direction, his anticipatory bail application was filed online on November 2.
The Rouse Avenue Court is now expected to consider his plea on November 3.
