Sribhumi: A section of the Muslim community in Sribhumi has decided not to sacrifice cows during Eid-ul-Adha this year and will instead opt for goat sacrifice while strictly following the existing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

The decision was taken by residents of the Settlement Road locality in Sribhumi town with the aim of maintaining communal harmony and preserving the longstanding spirit of brotherhood among people of different communities living in the area.

Local residents said the move reflects mutual respect and peaceful coexistence that has been maintained in the locality for many years. They added that members of the community collectively agreed to prioritise social harmony during the festival.

Residents further said all religious observances during Eid would be carried out peacefully and in accordance with the guidelines issued by the authorities.
