Seemanta Chetana Mancha Holds District Convention in Kalain, New Committees Formed

District President expressed heartfelt gratitude to the State Committee for reposing faith in his leadership and extending his term by another two years

Kalain: The District Convention of Seemanta Chetana Mancha, Purvottar – Cachar District Committee was successfully held on Sunday at Bharat Nirman School, Kalain. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from Gram Samiti members, Sector Committee representatives, Silchar Nagar Samiti delegates, and other invitees from the Indo-Bangla border regions of Cachar district.

The Convention was presided over by Dr. Debotosh Chakraborty (head, Department of Political Science, Assam University, Silchar), with the presence of the organisation’s State Secretary and Observer, Jogen Roy, who provided valuable insights into the goals and future roadmap of the Mancha.

A key highlight of the Convention was the constitution of a new District Committee and Sector Committees, with a renewed focus on the welfare and development of international border areas in collaboration with the Border Security Force (BSF). In a symbolic gesture, the newly appointed Presidents of Brojalalpur, Mahadevpur, Sadirkhal, and Kinnakhal Sectors were handed over their appointment letters by the District President.

In his address, the District President expressed heartfelt gratitude to the State Committee for reposing faith in his leadership and extending his term by another two years. “I thank the State Committee for their continued trust. On behalf of the newly formed District Committee, I also extend my sincere thanks to District Secretary Biswadip Chakraborty and all members of the District, Nagar, Sector, and Gram Committees for their unwavering support in organising this Convention,” he said.

The Convention concluded with a reaffirmed commitment to intensify developmental efforts in the border areas while strengthening grassroots connectivity and coordination with security agencies for the betterment of the borderland communities.
