Silchar: BJP Rajya Sabha MP Sushmita Dev arrived in Silchar on Saturday for the first time after being elected to the Upper House of Parliament. She received a warm welcome from party workers and supporters at Silchar Airport.

Speaking to reporters after her arrival, Sushmita Dev expressed gratitude to the BJP leadership for giving her the opportunity to serve in the Rajya Sabha.

“I had no conditions when I left the Trinamool Congress. Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah reposed their faith in me and gave me the opportunity to become a Rajya Sabha member. It is a matter of immense pride and privilege for me,” she said.

The BJP leader said she was thankful for the trust placed in her by the party’s top leadership and described her election to the Rajya Sabha as one of the proudest moments of her political career.
